Twitter - A New Marketing Tool

Everyone does blogging. These blogs get displayed in blog sites only after thoroughly checked by the editors for quality of the content. Some other sites give priority to these blogs based on the visitors to that link or the rating given by the visitors. But to the surprise of bloggers, a new social networking site Twitter, came up with the idea of displaying instant updates of user messages whenever posted.

Started with a simple idea of knowing what the founder's friends are doing, this idea took to millions in the past few years since been launched in August 2006. Any one can join twitter, then straight away post a message or a question like What are you doing now?. Its simple isn't it! But with a little pre condition that the messages should not exceed 140 characters. User can even place a link. This simplicity of use has made twitter to have the highest number of users compared to any other social networking site.

People use twitter very effectively by adding friends or contacts that need to follow their updates and vice versa. Many people use twitter to give updates to mobile phones or browser or Instant Messaging for their contacts. People promote their products by updating the new product launches or services through Twitter. Friends can update where they are now. Even some professionals use twitter to inform about meetings with their colleagues following these updates.

Twitter users have many success stories in their business ventures. Twitter is helpful only when, users and their update followers, both respond positive to these updates. It is simple and useful when used in the right sense.
